Location: Southern New Jersey. Been digging around on the web, and found the xt250 is rated at 17 hp and the klx230 is rated at 20.1 hp, the TW200 is 16 and the crf250l is 23. My only problem with the TW200 is its speed limitations on the road, 60 mph is about it, 50 or 55 mph is ok with the bike but slow for traffic.

Now discerning whether KLX or CRF 300L is right for me. I am the same height and weight as you with the 230. It’s a bit small but I like it. If you have the money and the inventory get the 300. Go for the 300, especially if you’re commuting at highway speeds.
The WR is probably the better bike out of the box. It has fuel injection, and makes more power than the KLX, but is also heavier. It has Yamaha reliability, but the KLX has a history, and it's a good one. Mods for the WR are limited (but it does make good power stock), and the bike is VERY expensive. You can probably find a good late model
